During the week of the International Congress of Stomatology at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) (November 24–28, 2025), an intensive academic and institutional agenda was carried out to strengthen global oral health, with a focus on equity, evidence, and international collaboration.
On November 24 and 25, the course “Global Oral Health: Academic Collaboration, Evidence, Communication, and Equity” was held, organized into four participatory blocks. The program brought together the global oral health agenda, strategies for integrating oral health into robust health systems, the development and adaptation of evidence-based clinical guidelines, and Peru’s territorial priorities related to inequities, curricula, and the health workforce.
The course was coordinated by Dr. Ana Lucía Seminario (University of Washington, USA) and included the participation of Dr. Alonso Carrasco Labra (University of Pennsylvania, USA), Dr. Andrés Agudelo Suárez (Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia), and Dr. Roberto A. León Manco (UPCH), who fostered a valuable space for dialogue and shared action toward stronger and more equitable oral health systems.
As part of the International Congress of Stomatology, held at the Sheraton Lima Hotel & Convention Center, on November 26 the meeting of the Peruvian Association of Faculties of Dentistry (ASPEFO) took place, serving as a platform for academic and institutional coordination among authorities, faculty members, and strategic stakeholders. This session helped strengthen a shared agenda focused on the quality of dental education, the modernization of academic processes, and the alignment of priorities to respond to the challenges of higher education and oral health in Peru and the region.

Finally, on November 27, the program continued at the same venue with the Scientific Conference on Education in Stomatology “Hernán Villena Martínez.” This component was especially relevant for connecting the university community with applied solutions and experiences in the management of teaching clinics, technological innovation, and simulation, promoting exchange between academia and industry and expanding opportunities for collaboration to modernize learning environments, in line with UPCH’s training priorities and continuous improvement efforts
