The Visiting Scholars program fee is $1,800\/month<\/strong>. The fee defrays the administrative and other costs of the Visiting Scholars Program to the Department and the School of Dentistry.\u00a0 Before any scholarly activities can be formally started, the Visiting Scholar is expected to pay the fee for the entire anticipated length of stay within one week of arriving at the University. Preferred payment method is wire transfer or check.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash or credit card payment.<\/p>\n

Fees are not refundable.\u00a0\u00a0 A non-refundable processing fee of $800<\/strong> for the Visiting Scholar (subject to change) is required.\u00a0 The processing fee covers cost for the J-1\/DS2019 visa document through the UW International Scholar\u2019s Office (ISO), criminal background check through A-Check America and associated miscellaneous expenses.\u00a0\u00a0 If the Visiting Scholar requires visa for J-2 dependent, an additional processing fee of $400<\/strong> per family member is required.*<\/p>\n

In addition to the DeRouen Center visiting scholar fee ($1650) and administrative fee ($800), the visiting scholars\/exchange visitor\u2019s combined sources of funding must also be sufficient to cover expenses (as outlined on the UW Funding for J-1 Exchange Visitors page<\/a>) and not less than:<\/p>\n
