Waranuch is Dean and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University in Khon Kaen, Thailand. She received D.D.S. from Chulalongkorn University, M.Sc. and Sc.D. in Epidemiology from Harvard University, and is a Diplomate of the Thai Board of Dental Public Health. Waranuch is active in research particularly relating to the oral health-systemic disease link and epidemiology of oral diseases. She has over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has served in editorial boards for several professional journals, including Journal of Dental Research (JDR), Oral Diseases, JDR – Clinical & Translational Research, and the International Journal of Oral Health (editor-in-chief). Waranuch is President of the Asian Academy of Preventive Dentistry (AAPD) and Past President of the Thai Society of Public Health Dentistry. She is executive member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in Thailand, and the Dental Faculty Consortium of Thailand, as well as Councilor of the Thai Dental Council. She also serves as consultant for several projects under the Bureau of Dental Health, Ministry of Public Health.
