Dr. DeRouen was Executive Associate Dean for Research and Academic Affairs in 2003-2011, Interim Dean of the School of Dentistry in 2011-2012 and President of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) in 2014.
He has had a lasting and continuing impact on oral health research through his direction of the Summer Institute in Clinical Dental Research Methods, which he founded in 1992 and which has trained approximately more than 560 researchers from more than 54 countries, along with more than half the states in this country.
